As Instructional Designers, we know the ins and outs of the practice, the proper terminology to use, and the reasons behind each of our processes; they've become second nature to us. But when we're working with new stakeholders, it's often easy to forget that our industry is most likely foreign and unfamiliar to them. This can lead to frustration on both ends and prove to be detrimental for building a solid relationship.

I chose to guard against this dilemma by educating our stakeholders before and during our working relationship, and accomplished this by creating a series of short tutorials developed to walk them through every step of the process.
